Wind Turbine

Installed in the fall of 2009, this 2.4kW wind turbine quietly converts wind into electricity. It will supplement the electricity used for farm operations and for the residence at Muddy Fork Farm.

Passive Solar Heating

55 gallon drums filled with water, wrapped in black plastic and located at the North end of the greenhouse act as a thermal mass. They capture heat during the day and slowly release their thermal energy back into the greenhouse at night.
